We have started posting non-CWCC events in the calendar, so be sure to take advantage of your Silver, Gold, or Platinum status to advertise your events to the membership.

The online Resource Guide has been updated to reflect a new search and filtering option. You can now enter search criteria that only shows entries with the specific services for which you are looking. You can also search by zip code and facility type.

Open Board of Directors Positions

We have two openings for the Board of Directors. Our board is currently made up of wound care directors and practitioners, and we are seeking to expand our base of leadership to include individuals with a broad base of experience including:

accounting / finance
fund raising / grant writing
marketing
non-profit management
strategic planning

Attached please find information for clinicians highlighting our Q2 symposium on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Providence Cancer Center Amphitheater on the campus of Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.

Complimentary breakfast is included.

This event features CWCC Board President, Dr. Enoch Huang, MD giving an overview of new initiatives in 2013 including CME / CNE accreditation as well as a preview of our updated website. Presenters will also speak on the following topics:

Long-term Maintenance of Healed Wounds
Barriers to Healing in the Home Environment
Plus two case studies will be presented

We have included information about our mission and our event including a flyer with topics and speakers.

Case Presentations Wanted

We are looking for case presentations for the second quarter (Q2) symposium on April 13, 2013. Presenters will have 30 minutes (20 for presentation, 10 for Q&A), to provide a discussion about an interesting, challenging, or educational patient experience that you have had. It does not have to be related to the content of the lectures of the symposium. Please contact us if you have any questions at education@columbiawound.org.

You can look on our Archives for examples of previous cases. For those of you who need a little help getting started, here is a Case Presentation Template.

Please note that if we do not start getting submissions of cases, we will interpret this to mean a lack of interest in this portion of this program, and we will plan on substituting another lecture in its place.

If you have not already done so, please login and update your e-mail and preferences so that you can stay up to date with all of our current information. You can choose to receive general CWCC announcements about updates to our organization, as well as upcoming CWCC and non-CWCC events.

CME / CEU now available

The CWCC is pleased to offer CME and CEU credits for attending our symposia. We have partnered with the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society to provide Category I AMA PRA Physician CME, and with Wound Education Partners to provide nursing CEUs at a low cost to our members.

We had 30 clinicians sign-up for CME / CEU at the Q1 meeting and we look forward to providing additional CME / CEU opportunities in the future.

Description: The final symposium of the 2012 academic year was held at PeaceHealth SW Washington Medical Center. We had a great turnout with over 40 clinicians and 14 exhibitors. Attendees learned about the basic mechanisms and indications for hyperbaric oxygen therapy, primary care management of chronic venous insufficiency, and the basics of ostomy care. We wrapped up (pun fully intended) the symposium with a hands-on session with compression therapy devices. The CWCC is pleased with the consistent turnout for all of the quarterly symposia, and we are pushing forward with our education plans for the 2013 year.
